| If you are unhappy about a service you have received or something you have bought you may wish to make a complaint. Do try to make your complaint as soon as possible as sometimes there are time limits within which complaints must be made. Wherever possible you should initially make your complaint to the person or organisation that has provided the goods or service. Many problems can be resolved in this way. Those responsible for providing public services such as housing, health, social care, police, benefits etc recognise that things can sometimes go wrong and all have clear procedures to be followed in the event of a complaint.
If you feel that you need help or support in dealing with a complaint or challenging a decision that you think is wrong there are several organisations that can help. See entries in this section for “Citizen’s Advice Bureaux”, “Age Concern - Buckinghamshire” and “People’s Voices”.
