| Before instructing a solicitor to act on your behalf do find out what the costs are likely to be. Your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau may be able to arrange for you to have a short free interview with a solicitor. Some solicitors offer fixed fee interviews or offer “no win, no fee” arrangements for certain types of work. For more information contact your local “Citizen’s Advice Bureau” or “Age Concern - England” who produce a fact sheet about Obtaining and Paying for Legal Advice (see entries in this section for contact details). The Community Legal Service can assist people with some legal costs if their income and capital is within certain limits (but not with legal costs associated with buying and selling property). |
